Unplug and Recharge at Bacalla Woods Campsite

Disconnect to Connect

Giving ourselves a moment to have a quality time with ourselves and with our loved ones is important. There is no app that can give us that. While we speed off to meet the deadlines, let us not let these scenario eat up all our time.

Unplugging from our usual activities and recharging ourselves may not be easy especially when we always check our phones. While the rest of Cebu is so plugged into their gadgets, Bacalla Woods Campsite will unplug us from our usual activities and will literally disconnect us as the place has no cellular connection. But you will certainly be connected with nature itself.

How to get there?

From Cebu South Bus Terminal, ride a bus or minibus going to San Fernando for a fare of P40.00 (regular rate). A few meters away from Pitalo Church, you will reach a bridge near Pulchra Resort (left side) and just a few meters from there (on the right side) you will be approaching a junction called Eskina Ilaya. You may also inform the bus conductor to drop you off to Eskina Ilaya (particularly San Isidro-Ilaya junction). From there, hire a motorbike (habal-habal) for P90.00 for a solo passenger.

Camping and other activities

After settling our fees and our things, we tried “The Swing” which was pretty famous in the campsite. We looked for firewood and prepare/cook our foods in the shared kitchen. Unfortunately, there was no bonfire during our visit.

In the morning of the next day, we lined up to claim our breakfast. We also tried the other swing, the spider rope course (as I can call it), and the river trekking for P50.00 per person. The trek will lead to another barangay called Cabatbatan. From there, we rode a habal-habal for another P50.00 per person to get us back to the campsite which was just in time for lunch.
