Sundaze Farm and Camari Hills: Two things that prove Carcar is nice!

The city of Carcar has its noticeable tagline of “Carcar is nice!”. Their tagline is somehow politically coined from the name of their current city mayor. But in this blog, I’ll share what proves Carcar to be a nice place to visit. Aside from its famous lechon and chicharon, the city has its mountain spots, too.

Alongside with the plan of reuniting with my high school friends, we decided to visit the newly-opened Sundaze Farm located at Brgy. Valencia, Carcar Cebu. To get there, from Cebu South Bus Terminal, we rode a minibus bound to Carcar for a fare of Php50.00 (fare varies). We then alighted at Gaisano Carcar and went to the habal-habal waiting area. Habal-habal fare is Php50.00 from Gaisano Carcar to Sundaze Farm. The road going there is not yet fully constructed.

The entrance fee is Php50.00 (as of writing). You may check in on Sundaze Farm’s Facebook page for its updates click here.

There were cottages available for rent but as for us, we did not rent any since we won’t stay there longer. For a place that had just recently opened, there were quite a number of visitors that day. So here are some of our photos from Sundaze Farm’s instagrammable spots.

After satisfying ourselves with our DIY photoshoot, we head to Brgy. Calidngan. Camari Hills is known as a pilgrim site. I once asked a high school classmate when we visited her house about the cross atop a hill which can be viewed at a distance and so I was told it was Camari Hills but I never got the chance to visit it before thus curiosity really got me and since we were at Carcar, why not try that uphill ride? So yes, we haggled the habal-habal driver to take us to Camari Hills. AND IT WAS REALLY AN UPHILL RIDE! I have been used to an uphill ride and climb since I live on the mountainside, too but I haven’t expected a very rough road but Kuya driver, I believe, has mastered the area so our rider spirit is also out! And anyway, rough roads are part of getting to the top.

We were welcomed by the tranquility of the place and the scenic view of the neighboring town of San Fernando and Barili. We even pointed to some of the areas which we believe (or thought) we know. Hahaha!

After some time, we descended and head back to Gaisano Carcar. Our trip costs me Php50.00 minibus fare, another Php50.00 for the entrance fee of Sundaze Farm, Php200.00 habal-habal fare (back and forth), and a jeepney and habal-habal fare going home. For the snacks, we just shared what we brought.

And truly, Carcar is nice.
